This versatile dough makes wonderful soft, sweet dinner rolls, but can also be used for cinnamon rolls.

I absolutely love this recipe, and I intend to make it whenever I get the craving for homemade bread.
I, like many of the other reviewers, modified this recipe somewhat. I do not have a breadmaker, so I mixed and kneaded the dough in my stand mixer.
In addition, I made some other changes: I increased the recipe by 1.5 to make 24 rolls instead of 16, although I still only used one packet of yeast and just let it rise a little longer. To help the yeast rise the additional dough, I substituted 2/3 cup of flour for potato flakes (which yeast love). The resulting rolls were absolutely perfect!
I would give this recipe 10 stars if I could!!

These are fabulous! My family loved them and they totally remind me of the crescent rolls my Grandma Rose used to make.

I consider myself a novice baker and never cared much for bread made in the breadmachine. Well I dusted off the bread machine to try these and they are the best. I made them into dinner rolls added some fresh rosemary to the dough and served as sliders for a superbowl party and the rolls freeze beautifully, an instant hit....

Finally ... a roll recipe that produces soft delicious rolls.
I used 2 1/2 teaspoons rapid rise yeast -- proofed in warmed water, and added a little extra flour (about 1/8 cup) after kneading for a few minutes, to get the smooth consistency needed.
I made crescent shaped rolls with half the dough, and even though I didn't do a great job of making them a uniform size - some were at least 25% larger than others - they still baked up nicely in a 375° F oven.
I'll probably try cloverleaf with the rest of the dough. Although I'm tempted to make some pigs in blanket with the rest in the morning.
Thanks for the great recipe.

I have never been able to make good bread of any kind before, so let me tell you, it is just a great feeling to actually be able to produce rolls that are so wonderful. These are just fantastic--and easy enough for a novice like me.
I didn't want to lug out the breadmaker, so I followed some of the suggestions from other ladies who made these babies by hand. Then I just rolled the dough into little balls (with my history in breadmaking, I wasn't willing to invest too much time). The balls puffed up like big beautiful bubbles--so cute! I'm delighted to finally have a go-to dinner roll recipe for family gatherings. And I can't wait to try the cinnamon rolls... Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!

This is a wonderful recipe. I was trying it out for a dinner party at my house when everything in the world went wrong. The dough sat for entirely too long before I took it out of the breadmaker, and I couldn't even form the traditional crescent shapes with it. I just made balls of dough and threw it into the oven in case it would still taste good. It was wonderful! They were gobbled up before I knew it, and the guests all voted to make it a standing request every time they come over. Success!!

Big and beautiful rolls - these are by no means dainty!!! Delicious and soft, with or without added butter...my sons devoured them hot out of the oven. I used 2 1/2 tsp bread machine yeast insted of the packet. Thanks for the wonderful recipe!!

These were good, but I guess I was expecting something mindblowing after reading all the fantastic reviews. I didn´t make them in the breadmaker though, I just followed some suggestions on making them by hand. I would have liked them more if they were softer and they tasted a bit too yeasty. Not bad though.
