I am continuously asked to bring this dip for parties and family get-togethers. People gather around the platter until it's gone. Five layers of Mexican-inspired delights are topped by a layer of vegetables, then smothered in cheese and garnished with black olives. The vegetables may be varied according to taste.

I made this for a dinner party last week and it was a HUGE hit. I thought it had made way more than we needed but by the time dinner came around, there was only a little bit of this left! I used 1/2 the packet of taco seasoning for the re-fried beans and the other 1/2 for the sour cream layer. I also didn't use the entire container of sour cream, only about 2/3. I omitted the tomato since the salsa seemed to be more than enough and also cut back on the lettuce and olives. I didn't have a 9x13 dish to put this in so I used a 9x9. I thought it might be too thick but people just scooped it out on to appetizer plates and devoured it :) Served with Tostito's scoops. I'm planning to make this for another party this weekend and am going to try adding in a layer of guacamole as other reviewers suggested.

Even better the next day! If I made it again I might use less sour cream/cream cheese mix, and maybe a little less taco seasoning, but over all a very pretty presentation in a glass bowl.

really easy to make! My favorite seven layer dip by far and our guests loved it. I skipped the black olives since I'm not a fan and will next time get a flavored refried beans. Definitely great for parties!

Great recipe to make as an party appetizer or for a football game! I made this for lunch today for my family and it was a big hit, even my 8 year old nephew enjoyed it. Only changes i made: left out the bell pepper. Added ground turkey meat (that i seasoned with half the taco seasoning) and jalapenos. Definitely a keeper!

This was pretty good. It made a lot (2 dishes for me), which was perfect, but ended up being a little runny for my tastes. That might come down to what kind of salsa you use, so if you have a runnier salsa, you might want to drain it a bit first, or pare back to half the amount.

This was great dip! Made this for a New Years football watching party and decided to add a layer of 1lb ground beef seasoned with taco seasoning between the sour cream/cream cheese and the lettuce. It was DELISH! The hostess had been making short ribs, which didn't turn out very well. No one even noticed the lack ribs because this was such a meaty, wonderful, filling dip. Even the 6 yo loved it!

I normally do not make taco dip with beans, but I thought it added great flavor. Love this.

Good recipe..I changed a few things to my taste. I mixed refried beans and hamburger together with a packet and a half of taco seasoning. Then I layered the meat mixture, sour cream, lettuce, olives, a can of RoTel tomoates and cilantro, cheese, and green onions. Then I drizzled taco sauce on top. It was a big hit at the New Year's Eve Party!!!

This wasn't bad, but it wasn't my favorite either. Way too much "cream" sauce between the full container of sour cream and a full package of cream cheese. We couldn't pinpoint what else we didn't care for, but I'll stick to traditional 7 layer dips in the future.

really easy and tastes great. served it at christmas, it was the first thing to go! i also left out the lettuce and it didn't matter. i used spicy refried beans and then layered guacamole, sour cream and cream cheese mixture(with half a packet of taco seasoning), salsa, cheese and topped with green onions and tomato. the cream cheese really does add something, as someone else pointed out, so don't leave it out! the only thing i may add next time is some cilantro, but even without it it was the perfect dip!

My friends and family gobble this up. However I substitute fresh Pico de Gallo for the salsa. I use a recipe from this site.

I knew when I was putting the salsa on that it would make it watery with too much liquid from the salsa, but decided to follow the recipe anyway because of the reviews and boy I hate that I did! Next time I will find a better recipe and make sure that it has no liquid ingredients. It should have a layer of guac instead of salsa!

I used a 9x13 pyrex dish and blended the beans with a hand mixer with half of the taco seasoning. I spread them in the dish and it looked way too thin so I added another can of beans with more seasoning. Then I did the sourcream/creamcheese/rest of the seasoning blended, guacamole, green onion, olive, tomato and then the salsa and cheese. I used medium salsa and mild seasoning and it wasn't spicy tasting. Everyone seemed to love it at my work party!
