E-Z Drop Biscuits

Quick and easy drop biscuits that taste great with butter and jam or plain with sausage and gravy.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup milk
 
  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, cream of tartar and salt. Stir in butter and milk just until moistened. Drop batter on a lightly greased cookie sheet by the tablespoon.
  3. Bake in preheated oven until golden on the edges, about 8 to 12 minutes. Serve warm.

Very easy and delicious! I also omitted the extra cream of tartar and added some shredded parmesan & asiago. Next time, I would add some garlic flavor, and they would be perfect!

Omitted the cream of tartar as recommended by others - turned out very fluffy and moist. Next time might add some cheese and brush with garlic butter for more flavor and better color

At first I was baffled that they didn't look like they were done. But they were! I thought oh no!!!! But everyone loved them and ate them up. While they don't look light and fluffy they are! Great recipe exactly like it is written.
